A lifelong dream of becoming a sports agent became a reality for Drew Kelso in 2018 when One Motive Sports was launched. Drew originally had every intention of becoming a sports agent all of his life. Drew was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas while moving around a little bit during and after college to different states. While attending college on a basketball scholarship, he was a Sports Management major that eventually switched to Business Administration after transferring schools. Drew played collegiately all four years at both the junior college level and NAIA level. Growing up he played at a very high level of AAU basketball with future NBA players, Euroleague players, and with/against many other players who played all over the world. With this it has built connections and an understanding of what it truly means to not only be a professional athlete but to stay one. While in college, Drew opened an online retail business out of his dorm room that turned out to be very successful. Although the original plan was to be an agent, life shaped a little differently at the time and Drew learned the value of owning his own business and learning the highs and lows that come with being self-employed and the art of making a deal. This has transcended into a much better understanding of the business aspect of the sports agency business. Being able to combine the love of basketball and business, he really has an understanding of both sides of the fence. Drew’s “family first” mentality starts at home with his wife Taylor and daughter Hadley who was born in April of 2019. His core values are his faith, family, and sense of doing the right thing.

THOMAS SANDLIN

FIBA Licensed Agent

Thomas Sandlin is the epitome of what it is to be a “players” agent. His eagerness to always put others first and help in any way he can is going to go far in this business. Thomas has always been a student of the game and even got a closer look at basketball at a higher level in college at Arkansas State University where he served as a team manager. The Jonesboro, Arkansas native has held various jobs in the business world before launching One Motive Sports with his lifelong friend Drew Kelso. Thomas wears many hats at OMS and is extremely dedicated to the company and to see it grow in the right way. He takes pride in developing relationships with the OMS Family members that will hopefully last long well past their playing careers. Thomas has become a student of the international game and learned and made many connections with coaches, general managers, and owners from across the world that allows us to connect with them for opportunities for our players. Thomas is everything a player could ask for in someone on their side to represent them on their quest to fulfilling their basketball dream.

Josh Jones

DIRECTOR OF RECRUITING

Joshua Jones has been an instrumental part of One Motive Sports since shortly after the company was formed. Josh was a former client as a player for OMS from 2019-2021 and has now taken on the role as Director of Recruiting. Josh played at the collegiate level for the University of Richmond (VA) and Henderson State University (AR). Following his time at Henderson State, Josh signed a Player-Agent Agreement with One Motive Sports to begin his professional career. He signed his first professional contract with the Goldfields Giants in Australia's SBL for the 2020 season. However, his Rookie season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He decided to take his knowledge, connections, and love of the game of basketball to another area of his life and get into the agency business with us here at OMS. Josh holds the same values we want anyone in our company to hold. Not only is he an amazing person, but he has a great eye for talent and is now instrumental in our recruitment of new players to our growing company.

DAVON BELL

DIRECTOR OF SCOUTING

Davon Bell is another One Motive Sports example of someone that has made the transition from client to staff member as our Director of Scouting. The Charlotte, North Carolina native was a One Motive Sports client from 2019 to 2021. After starring at NCAA Division 1 school Presbyterian College, Bell signed with One Motive Sports as an aspiring professional player upon graduating from his university with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. He was a part of one of the best high school teams in North Carolina high school basketball history at Northside Christian Academy where he won three state championships and made it to the GEICO National Tournament Elite 8 as a Senior. Following high school, Davon played for the Presbyterian Blue Hose basketball program from 2014-2019. As a Senior, Davon was a member of the All-Big South Conference 2nd Team and was top ten in all of NCAA Division 1 in assists per game. Following his collegiate career, Davon went on to play professionally in Sweden and Romania’s top divisions from 2019-2021.Davon has entered into a role with One Motive Sports as Director of Scouting. His knowledge of the game, connections from all levels of basketball, and overall feel for the game are invaluable for us at OMS. His background not only of being a professional basketball player also adds a benefit to our clients. Davon has a deep understanding of how our values at One Motive Sports are upheld and his ability to portray that on the other side of the professional basketball world is invaluable for the entire One Motive Sports Family.

Clay Mallory

FIBA LICENSED AGENT - DIRECTOR OF WEST COAST RECRUITING/BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Clay Mallory brings a wealth of experience to the One Motive Sports staff. The San Francisco, California native has been in the basketball industry for nearly a decade in different capacities. He now serves as an additional FIBA Certified Agent and is also the Director of West Coast Recruiting and Director of Business Development for One Motive Sports. After spending years in the college coaching ranks at Cal State-Northridge and Canada College (CA), Clay become FIBA certified and became an independent agent before joining with California based TAP Sports Agency. Over the past, Clay has recruited athletes and negotiated deals in multiple countries around the world. His relationships in California and all along the West Coast are valuable for our expanding company! Clay's experience in sales and marketing goes hand in hand with our desire to find the best deals off the court for our clients. Clay fits the mold for what it takes to work on the OMS staff as he is a very high character and trustworthy person. He is the type of guy you’d love to work beside as a player! We expect Clay to leave an impact on this business and at OMS for years to come!
